Citing sources
From VeganWiki
Citing sources here is a little different than Wikipedia. You can get instructions straight from the plugin's developer or you can take a look at the brief guide below.
Creating a footnote
Between opening and closing <ref> tags, type your source just like you'd like to see it listed. I've been following MLA format, but it's better to have a badly formatted source than no source. For example, if you wanted to cite this page, you could write:
<ref>"Citing sources". VeganWiki. [resource creation date, available in the page's history tab]. Web. [access date]. <http://veganwiki.kjcoop.com/index.php/Citing_sources>.</ref>
Pasted into a page, it will come out as follows: [1]
Adding a references heading
The references for a page will be automatically compiled with use of the <references /> tag.
An example:
== References == <references />
References
- ↑ "Citing sources". VeganWiki. [resource creation date, available in the page's history tab]. Web. [access date]. <http://veganwiki.kjcoop.com/index.php/Citing_sources>.
